Throughout February and March of this year, our Prep pupils and their wider communities took part in the biennial Grow a Fiver initiative, a fun hands-on programme in entrepreneurship and business development.
Working individually or in teams, pupils were each given £5 in ‘seed funding’ to launch their own ventures. The results were wonderfully imaginative: from card making and DIY Latymer merchandise to baked goods and games, the Prep was buzzing with creativity, energy, and enterprise.
What started as a few small ideas quickly blossomed into a lively ‘City of Entrepreneurs,’ with new businesses popping up each week. Along the way, pupils not only developed valuable skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience, but also worked towards raising funds for the Prep Bursary Fund.
With an ambitious target of £15,000, pupils, supported by their families and friends, raised an impressive £18,283, surpassing previous years totals as well as their overall goal! Their efforts will help provide opportunities for more bright and talented children to join the Prep next September.
A huge well done to all the pupils, and a big thank you to their families, communities, the Prep Gild, and Latymer staff for supporting this fantastic achievement!
