On Wednesday, Year 4 pupils were transported into the world of traditional African folklore during a special storytelling workshop led by author, professional storyteller, and oral historian Wendy Shearer.
Wendy captivated the children with two traditional tales from Africa, using sensory props, music, puppets and percussion instruments to bring the stories to life. The interactive session encouraged pupils to take part through movement, drama and their own creative ideas, which Wendy cleverly wove into the unfolding tales.
Together, the children and Wendy created their own unique versions of the stories, blending imagination with culture and tradition.
Students were engaged from the very start and left inspired to learn more about storytelling, performance and African heritage.
