Bandstand Cup 2025

The Bandstand Cup is one of the highlights of the Prep school calendar, bringing together all pupils from Year 3 to Year 6, along with staff and families, for a much-anticipated community event. Today we had more parents than ever before lining the streets along the river and cheering the children on. 

The race began at the Bandstand in Dukes Meadows and finished near the School on Upper Mall, with all the children running together in a spirited show of determination and teamwork. Pupils love the chance to win points for their houses and this year it was Mallard House that proudly raised the cup. 

Despite the first rainy race day in seven years, the children’s spirits shone as brightly as ever. Nothing dampened their enthusiasm or their competitive drive, making this year’s Bandstand Cup another memorable occassion. 

Mr Mills, Prep's Head of Sport says “In weather conditions that were far from ideal, the children rolled up their sleeves and the parents put up their umbrellas for the 2025 Latymer Prep Bandstand Cup. The race was keenly contested as always as 166 children made their way from the Bandstand back towards the prep school. Well done to all of the children for being wonderful competitors and congratulations to the medal winners and winning House (Mallard).”
