Congratulations to all of our pupils, from Years 3 - 6, who took part in the Richmond upon Thames Performing Arts Festival this year. 

This is the first time in two years that this annual event was able to take place in person and our pupils participated in the piano, singing, strings, wind and brass categories winning 3 gold medals, 2 silvers and five bronzes.

“We are thrilled with the recent achievements of the Latymer Prep children in the Richmond festival as well as in the Spring ABRSM Music exams,” said Ms Garson, Prep’s Head of Music. “The Richmond Festival took place over three weekends during the past month, and we were well represented in every section throughout this highly competitive festival.”

There were three gold medals in the Wind & Brass category for Year 4 pupil Eva (trombone) and Year 6 pupils Tamila (flute) and Louise (clarinet), with silver medals for Year 3 pupil Liberty (recorder) and Year 6 pupil Finlay (trombone). Year 4 pupil, Ena won two golds in the singing category. 

 

Year 6 pupil Harry managed to come third place in the Grade 5 piano category and was commended for the sensitivity of his playing. In Strings Year 3 pupil, Tara (cello) won a bronze medal in the 7 years and under category, and Year 5 Lukas (cello), and Year 4 Noah (guitar), were awarded Bronze medals. Year 5 pupil, Oregon was awarded a Bronze medal in the 11 under section, cello, and another bronze medal in the Junior concerto 12 and under section ,violin. The Latymer Quartet received a high mark and excellent report in the Junior ensembles section.
