Arts and creativity
Learning beyond the classroom is encouraged through a wide range of trips to museums, theatres, art galleries and sites of historic interest. Study weekends and Activities Week are an integral part of the children's learning experience.
We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities after school, including clubs in music, sports, IT, art, photography, chess and maths.
Our emphasis on individualised learning is balanced by an emphasis on co-operation, group learning and emotional empathy.
There is a wide range of opportunities for children to perform in public from intimate gatherings in lunchtime concerts to whole-school events which are staged in the Upper School Arts Theatre and Main Hall.
Drama is also encouraged, both through the curriculum and in extra-curricular situations. Many assemblies are led by children in performance while there are drama opportunities at the end of each term as part of our music concerts. In addition, Year 6 stages an end-of-year production in the Edward Latymer Theatre.
Art, photography and design technology further enhance a rich and varied aesthetic curriculum.
